Working with you to

give greater voice to industries in the vocational education system

Industry Skills Boards strengthen industry voice in the vocational education system.

There are eight Industry Skills Boards (ISB). Each ISB works with industry and employers, to ensure the vocational education system meets industry needs and gives a stronger voice to Māori business and iwi development. ISBs then advise government on what programmes and qualifications they should support and fund.

Eight ISBs were established in January 2026.
